Valley View is on its way toward creating a Monarch Waystation Habitat right in our school garden. With the help of Miss Amy Burd's second grade class, we now have precious milkweed seeds in the ground awaiting signs of spring! Special thanks to Valley View's Mia Baldwin for her expertise and donation of milkweed seeds!

On November 1st, 2018 Mrs. Simila's 2nd grade class participated in National Outdoor Classroom Day. They took the learning outdoors and conducted a science lab in the outdoor classroom garden area as part of the new Science FOSS unit on solids and liquids. Students set out on a search for puddles, tried creating puddles, and then took water samples all while having engaging and meaningful conversations around their observations. All in all, it was a sun filled, fun science lab in the great outdoors!
