UPDATED The Red Emperor tulip bulbs that our first grade students planted last fall have finally bloomed! What a great splash of spring color they have created at Valley View! 4/12/2019 In November of this school year, all first grade students planted a red emperor tulip bulb. Valley View is participating this school year to help track signs of spring and reporting data to a citizen science program. On March 29th, our students ventured out to check on their tulips and report their observations! Their tulip bulbs already began to emerge. (check out the live reporting map here.) What a great real world science and math application! Students measure their very own tulip bulbs in inches! Our next observation will be when their tulips bloom! They will be bringing their tulip bulbs home with them at the end of the school year!
